Foundations of ESG — Teaser Video Script & Storyboard

Project Overview

Designing a short, high-impact teaser video to introduce the Foundations of ESG program and position ESG as a critical leadership capability rather than a niche sustainability topic.

The teaser is designed to spark curiosity, establish urgency, and clearly signal the value of structured ESG learning to prospective learners.

Designing the Teaser Experience

The video is structured as a narrative-driven teaser, not an instructional explainer. It uses pace, tone, and visual momentum to move learners from awareness to relevance.

The storyboard combines spoken-first narration with tightly aligned visual cues, ensuring the message lands emotionally while maintaining conceptual clarity.

Audience & Context

The target audience includes professionals across industries who are encountering ESG expectations through regulation, investment pressure, or organizational strategy—but may not yet see ESG as a core business capability.

The teaser needed to resonate across sectors, roles, and regions, without assuming prior ESG knowledge.

What this asset is (and isn’t)

  • It is a marketing and orientation teaser, not a teaching module.
  • It frames ESG as a leadership and business imperative.
  • It sets context and motivation ahead of formal learning.
  • It is not intended to assess or validate learner understanding.

Design Approach

The storyboard is organised into five narrative sections that build progressively:

  1. The urgency of responsible leadership

  2. ESG as the new business imperative

  3. The growing ESG skills gap

  4. What the Foundations of ESG program offers

  5. A clear call to action

Each section is scripted with deliberate pacing, short on-screen text, and visual guidance tied closely to the voiceover. Visuals are used to reinforce scale, credibility, and real-world relevance rather than explain definitions.

Key Components

  • Spoken-first teaser script with motivational framing
  • Scene-by-scene storyboard with timing guidance
  • Clear alignment between narration and on-screen text
  • Sector-agnostic visual strategy for broad relevance
  • Strong opening hook and closing call to action
  • Consistent branding and tone throughout

Role & Contribution

I designed the complete teaser video script and storyboard.

This included defining the narrative arc, writing voiceover and on-screen text, and providing detailed visual and developer notes to support efficient video production.

Outcome

The teaser provides a compelling entry point into the Foundations of ESG program, helping prospective learners understand why ESG matters before exploring how to build capability.

It positions ESG learning as timely, career-relevant, and strategically important rather than optional or peripheral.

Reflection

This work demonstrates how video can be used strategically at the top of a learning journey—not to teach content, but to create relevance, urgency, and intent.

By separating motivation from instruction, the teaser sets up stronger engagement with the learning that follows.
